Serbia may become one of the first countries in Europe to start serial production of humanoid robots and robot dogs. The launch of the first factory is expected as early as 2026 in Loznica. The project is being implemented in collaboration with China.
The country's authorities announced their plans during the presentation of the state development strategy "Serbia-2030" in Belgrade. The enterprise is planned to be opened between June and September 2026. The factory will produce humanoid robots for various tasks, as well as robotic dogs that will be able to perform a wide range of functions.
It is expected that production will be large-scale: approximately 1,000 humanoid robots and up to 10,000 robot dogs are planned. They can be used in industry, services, security, and other areas related to the development of artificial intelligence and automation.
The project is being implemented with the participation of the Chinese company Minth, which already has production facilities in Serbia. Authorities hope that the new factory will become part of a broader ecosystem of robotics and AI being developed in the country.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić emphasized the significance of the project for the future technological development of the state.
"I believe that by June, at the latest by September, we will open the first humanoid robot factory in our country," the president stated.
According to the Serbian leader, the development of artificial intelligence and robotics should become one of the key directions of the economy, and new technologies will help create a modern industrial base in the country and attract international investments.
