Nearly 7,000 Passengers: Disney Launches Its Largest Cruise Ship

American Walt Disney Co. will send its eighth and largest cruise ship, Disney Adventure, on its maiden voyage in March, CNBC reports.

A Big Ship – A Big Crew

The vessel will set sail from Singapore and will carry passengers on three to four-night voyages.

The ship named Disney Adventure can accommodate up to 6,700 passengers – about two-thirds more than Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny – and is designed for around 2,500 crew members (approximately 1,000 more).

"Our type of service requires a large team," said Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, to the channel.

By 2031, Disney plans to add five more ships to its fleet, in addition to Adventure.

Americans Stay Home

The company is ramping up its activities in Southeast Asia amid a sharp decline in tourist flows to the U.S. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), inbound tourist flows to the States decreased by 6% last year, while global tourism grew, and none of the other major destinations showed negative dynamics. In January 2026, the American figure also declined – by 4.8% year-on-year.

Among the factors for the decline, WTTC cites entry bans, visa costs, and thorough border inspections. Tourism experts also pointed to geopolitical tensions and security concerns, as noted by CNBC.
