airBaltic has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 4

Given the uncertainty surrounding the current situation in Israel, the Latvian national airline "airBaltic" has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 4 inclusive, according to the airline's statement, writes LETA.

"airBaltic" operates flights from Riga to Tel Aviv three times a week.

The airline emphasizes that the safety of passengers, employees, and flights is the main priority of "airBaltic". The carrier maintains close communication with local and international authorities.

The company is ready to adjust the flight schedule if necessary.

"airBaltic" urges all affected passengers to check their bookings on the airline's website to apply for a refund or to contact the "airBaltic" call center at +371 67280422.

The airline also confirmed to the LETA agency that this morning, due to the situation in the Middle East region and restrictions in certain airspaces, the "airBaltic" flight BT792 from Dubai to Riga returned to Dubai shortly after takeoff for safety reasons.

After refueling, the aircraft will depart again and operate a flight to Riga via an alternative route through the airspace of Egypt or Saudi Arabia.

A stop in Bucharest is also planned on the way to Riga for crew change, as it has reached the maximum allowable working time.

After that, the flight will continue to Riga.

This route adjustment has been made to fully comply with safety requirements and to avoid potentially restricted or higher-risk airspaces.

As reported, Israel and the United States are striking Iran on Saturday, according to the Israeli Ministry of Defense and U.S. President Donald Trump.

"The State of Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a special and immediate state of emergency across the country," the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated.

Trump announced on the "Truth Social" platform that the U.S. military has begun "large-scale combat operations in Iran" to eliminate "threats from the Iranian regime."

Several explosions were heard in Tehran in the morning.

Apparently, a missile strike occurred, reported the Iranian news agency Fars.

Explosions were heard in five cities in Iran on Saturday, according to Fars.

It was also reported that explosions were heard in Jerusalem and northern Israel on Saturday, according to the AFP agency and the Qatari channel "Al Jazeera."

As previously reported by the Israeli military, the launch of missiles from Iran towards Israel has been recorded.
