Under the deferred excise tax payment regime, the volume of petroleum products exported from Latvia last year was 563,084 tons, or 59%, more than in 2024, according to data from the State Revenue Service (VID) on the turnover of excise goods.
In 2025, merchants from excise warehouses in Latvia, using the deferred excise payment regime, sent a total of 1,517,699 tons of petroleum products (fuels). The majority — 910,088 tons — was exported outside the EU, while 607,611 tons were sent to other EU member states.
A total of 671,171 tons of gasoline was sent to other countries, which is 491,619 tons, or 3.7 times more than in 2024; 106,721 tons of diesel fuel — 24,807 tons, or 30.3% more; and 136,935 tons of biodiesel — 40,031 tons, or 22.6% less than in 2024.
At the same time, the volume of liquefied petroleum gas sent to other countries decreased by 30.6% and amounted to 238,575 tons.
