A very high market price for electricity is expected for several hours on Tuesday in the Latvian segment of the "Nord Pool" exchange, according to information published by JSC "Latvenergo", reports LETA.
From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the electricity price on the exchange will be €0.7435 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM — €0.6013 per kWh.
The lowest electricity price on Tuesday was recorded from 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM — €0.1741 per kWh.
Fluctuations in the exchange price of electricity will affect those consumers who have contracts linked to the exchange price.
According to data published by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), in the third quarter of 2025, the share of contracts with floating prices among households was 16.2%, while in the corporate segment it was 38%.
