The Export of Oil Products from Latvia Has Suspiciously Increased

The volume of oil products exported from Latvia under the deferred excise tax payment regime in the 11 months of last year amounted to a total of 598,581 tons, which is 70.8% more than in the 11 months of 2024, according to data from the State Revenue Service (VID) on the turnover of excise goods.

In the 11 months of last year, merchants from excise goods warehouses in Latvia, using a deferral of excise tax payment, sent oil products (fuel) in a total volume of 1,443,523 tons. The majority of the oil products – 883,681 tons – were exported, while 559,843 tons were sent to other European Union member states.

In the 11 months, 655,071 tons of gasoline were sent to other countries, which is 529,064 tons or 5.2 times more than in the 11 months of 2024, 98,287 tons of diesel fuel, which is 21,058 tons or 27.3% more than in the 11 months of 2024, and 122,998 tons of biodiesel fuel, which is 37,221 tons or 23.2% less than in the 11 months of 2024.

At the same time, in the 11 months of last year, the volume of liquefied petroleum gas sent to other countries decreased by 31% and amounted to 221,806 tons.

Other oil products were sent to other countries in the volume of 344,230 tons in the 11 months, which is 2.2 times more than in the 11 months of 2024.
