Artificial Intelligence Will Become the Most Relevant Topic for Latvian Entrepreneurs in 2026

Interest in tools and capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Latvian business environment continues to grow: in 2026, the most relevant topic will be productivity enhancement using the latest technological solutions.

This conclusion follows from the results of the study "Digital Portrait of a Leader 2025." The survey revealed that mastering AI capabilities will be the most relevant topic for 49.7% of companies, surpassing sustainability and other topics.

Interest in AI within the Latvian corporate environment is indeed high. The results of the "Digital Portrait of a Leader 2025" study show that at least one-third of respondents regularly use text generators and AI-based image creation tools, while ambitions are significantly larger. Almost half of the surveyed companies want to entrust AI tools with planning employee workloads and creating work schedules, and one in four would like AI to assist in document preparation.

Entrepreneurs are intrigued by one of this year's "hottest" topics – multi-agent AIs that can be assigned various skills and work in groups alongside humans, where they independently carry out their work duties. The increased interest is reflected in the study results, which show that for 49.7% of respondents, the integration of artificial intelligence into the work environment will be the most important topic.

31.7% of respondents consider addressing sustainability issues to be the top priority in the new year, while 30% will make efforts to automate sales processes. For just over one-fifth of respondents, or 22.1%, the most important task is the implementation of an e-invoicing system.

"Despite the fact that the term 'artificial intelligence' has become somewhat stale and even tiresome for some over the years, in reality, AI is only now truly entering the Latvian business environment as a centrally implemented, universally applicable solution, rather than as a personal assistant for individual employees. The fact that for half of the respondents, the implementation of AI is the most relevant topic of this year only means that we will see the integration of more and more tools and platforms for performing work tasks. It is possible that employees in some companies will meet their first virtual colleagues, who will autonomously perform their duties and participate in project workgroups, independently carrying out specific tasks," predicts Viesturs Slaidins, head of Jumis Pro, which conducted the study.

The "Digital Portrait of a Leader 2025" study was conducted in the fall of 2025, involving 145 leaders, department heads, and employees of Latvian companies.
