Over $50 million for one Bitcoin: in the best case and in a quarter of a century

The asset management company VanEck has presented three price scenarios for Bitcoin by 2050. Currently, let us remind you, one cryptocurrency coin is worth about $90,000.

According to their model, the driver for the main cryptocurrency will be the growth of the money supply and, consequently, the devaluation of national currencies. The report outlined three main price scenarios in the price range from $130,000 to $53.4 million.

The main risk for the growth of Bitcoin's price, according to VanEck, is not volatility, but regulatory restrictions that could slow its adoption in the financial system. Experts recommend allocating 1-3% of portfolios to Bitcoin for diversification, and for investors with a high risk tolerance — up to 20%.

VanEck has constructed three possible scenarios for Bitcoin by 2050, based on the depth of Bitcoin's penetration into the global economy:

Base scenario. A target of $2.9 million for one Bitcoin. This is VanEck's main working hypothesis. It assumes that Bitcoin will account for 5-10% of global trade and about 5% in the economies of some countries.

Bearish scenario. A target of $130,000 for one Bitcoin. A stagnation scenario, where mass institutional adoption does not occur, according to experts. Bitcoin remains a niche digital asset with no significant role in global finance.

Bullish scenario. A target of $53.4 million for one Bitcoin. The most aggressive forecast, where Bitcoin captures 20% of global trade and 10% of global GDP, becoming a competitor or even a successor to gold. In this case, it would account for nearly 30% of the volume of global financial assets.
