In November, the unemployment rate in Latvia was higher than the EU and Eurozone averages

In Latvia, the unemployment rate in November was 7.1% and was higher than the average in the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone, according to data published on Thursday by the EU statistical office Eurostat, LETA reports.

According to these data, a higher unemployment rate among EU countries in November was recorded in Spain (10.4%), Finland (10.1%), Sweden (9%), Greece (8.2%), and France (7.7%). In Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.9%, while in Lithuania it was 6.7%.

The lowest unemployment rate in November was registered in Malta (3.1%), the Czech Republic and Poland (both 3.2%), Bulgaria (3.5%), and Germany (3.8%).

On average in the EU, unemployment, adjusted for seasonal fluctuations, was 6%, which corresponds to the level of October, while in the Eurozone it remained at 6.3%.

According to Eurostat, in November, 13.225 million people were unemployed in the EU, of which 10.937 million were in Eurozone countries.
