Tesla has launched a new, cheaper version of its Model 3 electric car in Europe. This comes two months after the launch of this model in the United States, Reuters reports.
As Reuters notes, demand for Tesla electric cars in Europe has decreased. Many buyers are opting for vehicles from other brands, such as the Volkswagen ID.3 or the Chinese BYD Atto 3.
The new version of the Model 3 is called Standard. It has fewer premium features and functions but can still travel over 480 km on a single charge. Deliveries are set to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
According to Tesla's website, the price of the new Model 3 Standard in Europe is: Germany — €37,970; Norway — 330,056 Norwegian kroner; Sweden — 449,990 Swedish kronor.
In comparison, the more expensive version of the Model 3 in Germany costs nearly €46,000. In the United States, the Standard is sold for $36,990.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has long promised more affordable cars for the mass market. Although the company is currently actively working on artificial intelligence, robotaxis, and humanoid robots, new cars will remain the main source of income for the foreseeable future.
