Tax Revenues for Nine Months Lag Behind Plan

In the first nine months of this year, 11.326 billion euros in tax revenues were collected, which is 106.9 million euros or 0.9% less than planned, the Ministry of Finance reported to the LETA agency.

At the same time, tax revenues for the first nine months of 2025 were 586 million euros or 5.5% higher than in the same period of 2024.

In the consolidated state budget, tax revenues for the first nine months of the year amounted to 10.721 billion euros, which is 99 million euros or 0.9% less than planned.

In the state budget, tax revenues amounted to 8.967 billion euros, which is 86.3 million euros or 1% less than planned, while in the municipal budgets, tax revenues amounted to 1.753 billion euros, which is 12.7 million euros or 0.7% less than planned.

In the state-funded pension scheme, revenues for the first nine months of 2025 amounted to 605.3 million euros, which is 7.9 million euros or 1.3% less than planned.

For the first nine months of 2025, corporate income tax, personal income tax, customs duties, vehicle tax, property tax, and excise on natural gas collected more than expected.

In the first nine months, the highest amount of social security contributions was collected - 4.195 billion euros, which is 1.2% less than expected.

Value-added tax (VAT) revenues for the first nine months of the year amounted to 2.969 billion euros, which is 3.7% less than planned, while personal income tax revenues amounted to 2.033 billion euros, which is 2.5% more than planned.

Excise revenues for the first nine months of 2025 amounted to 934.9 million euros, which is 5.5% less than planned.

Corporate income tax revenues for the first nine months of the year amounted to 684.1 million euros, which is 15.4% more than planned, while property tax revenues amounted to 202 million euros, which is 0.9% more than planned.

The ministry notes that revenues in the state budget from social security contributions increased by 283.2 million euros to 3.6 billion euros, which is 8.6% more compared to the same period last year.
