Герхард Шредер

'Globus' is not the only Western company that continues to operate in Russia.

"Gerhard Schröder is taking a new position in Russia!" reports the German publication Bild. "The former chancellor has joined the supervisory board of LLC 'Hyperglobus', the operator of 'Globus' supermarkets in Russia. This was confirmed by a representative of the retail chain to the Russian media RBC.

Schröder is expected to lead the business and help strategically develop the company in Russia. The owner of Globus, Thomas Bruch, explained the decision by Schröder's long-standing experience in relations with Russia. The Russian company 'Globus' operates in 22 markets across eight regions and, according to its own data, is independent of German business. According to him, the former chancellor is expected to help adopt a "dialogue-oriented approach" and find constructive solutions even under current conditions.

'Globus' is by no means the only Western company that has remained in the country since the onset of Russia's brutal aggressive war against Ukraine! German companies such as Storck, Hochland, and Ehrmann also have Russian subsidiaries. Bayer continues to operate in Russia, but, according to its own statements, focuses on health and agricultural products that are considered essential.
