Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated that Bulgaria has exhausted its capabilities to provide Ukraine with military assistance in the form of weapons and ammunition.
Speaking before the NATO summit in Ankara, the head of the Bulgarian government noted that Sofia has already provided Kyiv with 13 packages of military assistance, after which the resources for further supplies have been exhausted.
"We have exhausted our capabilities for providing military support, I mean weapons and ammunition from Bulgarian military depots. We have provided 13 packages, and we have nothing more to supply to Ukraine," said Radev.
According to him, Bulgaria is ready to continue cooperation with Ukraine in the field of technical military support. In particular, this concerns the repair of Ukrainian military equipment at Bulgarian enterprises.
The Prime Minister's statement came shortly after Bulgarian Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov announced that the country would no longer provide military assistance to Ukraine.
Rumen Radev also believes that the West is trying to defeat Russia through conventional means, but risks provoking escalation and a nuclear response. He stated this during the NATO summit in Ankara.
"My message is simple: we, the collective West, are trying to achieve a conventional victory over the largest nuclear power, without having sufficient capabilities to counter their hypersonic missiles," Radev said.
"And this dramatically increases the risk of escalation, increases the risk of a nuclear response, and this is very dangerous," he added.
