Statements by Russian officials, including the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu, about the alleged complicity of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland in organizing the flights of Ukrainian drones for further attacks on Russian territory are unfounded.
As stated by European Commission spokesperson Anita Hipper, Russia is making baseless accusations against European states, according to the EU.
"I would like to point out the statements we have also seen, where these member states clearly reject this unfounded claim. So, there is no evidence to support these statements," Hipper said.
She noted that "it is absolutely clear that such statements are part of the Russian information toolkit."
"They create grounds for escalation and undermine regional security. Nothing new," concluded the European Commission spokesperson.
As reported bb.lv, in the list of targets of the Russian Ministry of Defense, which former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called a 'legitimate target' for Russian missiles, there is a logistics complex A6 located in Riga at 462 Latgales Street. Allegedly, drones AQ-400 'Kosa' are produced here for Ukraine.
In addition to Riga and Tallinn, the lists of the Russian Ministry of Defense included cities in Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Britain, Denmark, Israel, and Spain.
