U.S. Vice President Vance urged European politicians to follow Orbán's example.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance urged European leaders to follow the example of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his energy policy. He made this statement during a press conference broadcast by the White House.
"Prime Minister Orbán is the only outstanding leader in Europe when it comes to energy security and independence. It is amusing to watch prime ministers and leaders of some Western European countries discuss the energy crisis when, frankly, they should be following Viktor Orbán's policy in Hungary," the vice president noted.
Vance also expressed his willingness to help Orbán in any way he can during the election period in Hungary.
"Of course, I do not expect the people of Hungary to listen to the Vice President of the United States — I am not here for that. But I really wanted to send a signal to everyone, especially the Brussels bureaucrats, who are doing everything possible to suppress the will of the Hungarian people because they do not like a leader who truly stands up for the Hungarian people," he emphasized.
Parliamentary elections in Hungary will take place on April 12.
