Donald Trump promised to "unleash all hell" on Iran if it does not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. Tehran rejected and promised to "send the U.S. president to the depths of hell."
Iranian authorities sharply rejected Donald Trump’s reminder of the U.S. ultimatum, which expires in two days. This position was voiced by several Iranian leaders on the evening of Saturday, April 4.
Iranian General: The U.S. has suffered a series of defeats
"Iran will send you and your soldiers straight to the depths of hell - where you always belonged," wrote Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s committee on national security and foreign policy, on social media in response to Trump’s words.
"The aggressive and belligerent U.S. president, after a series of defeats, has taken the audacity to threaten Iranian infrastructure and assets in a helpless, nervous, unbalanced, and foolish manner," stated General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, a representative of Iran's top military command. He also stated that in the event of a new wave of U.S. strikes, "the gates of hell will open before them."
Trump’s new ultimatum for Iran
On April 4, the U.S. president reminded on TruthSocial of his ultimatum. According to Trump, Tehran must "strike a deal" with Washington within the next 48 hours (that is, by Monday, April 6) or lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, "all hell will break loose" on Iran, the Republican warned.
On the night of March 22, the U.S. president had already issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Tehran. At that time, Trump also demanded the lifting of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and promised that U.S. military would begin strikes on Iranian energy facilities if this did not happen. Subsequently, Trump shifted the deadline of the ultimatum several times, citing negotiations with Iran.
