Citizenship by Birthplace. Trump Against

The U.S. president attended the court hearings for two hours.

Trump was the first sitting U.S. president to personally attend hearings at the Supreme Court regarding citizenship by birthright, reports the portal "Duty Officer in America."

President Donald Trump made a historic visit to the U.S. Supreme Court, where oral arguments were heard on the legality of his executive order limiting birthright citizenship. This order was signed by Trump on the first day after his return to the White House.

Among the arguments in favor of Trump's order are claims that granting citizenship to everyone born in the U.S. has created a whole "birth tourism industry" and "a whole generation of American citizens abroad who have no significant ties" to the U.S. Meanwhile, Justice Elena Kagan stated that the administration's "revisionist theory" requires changing what "people have considered a rule for over a century."

During the hearing, the president spent less than two hours. Meanwhile, activists gathered outside, opposing the White House's strict immigration policy. After the hearing, Trump wrote on Truth Social that the U.S. is "the only country in the world so stupid as to allow citizenship by birth."
