Finland did not demand that Ukraine stop or reduce strikes on targets in Russia, despite recent drone incidents, said Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, LETA reports citing BBC.
"Ukraine has the right to defend itself. We are not making any demands on Ukraine regarding which targets it seeks to hit in Russia," the minister said in an interview with the publication "Yle."
Residents of Finland should not be put at risk, so the country is developing a counter-drone defense system that could be operational within a few months, noted Valtonen.
On Sunday, several Ukrainian drones entered Finnish airspace and crashed in the southeastern part of the country.
The drones ended up in Finland due to the operation of Russian electronic warfare systems, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday.
Kyiv apologized to Finland for this incident, confirmed the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgiy Tikhiy.
