U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the final decision on when to stop the strikes against Iran will be made by him, but it is important for him to consider the opinion of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In comments to The Times of Israel, made immediately after the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader of Iran, the head of the White House noted that he would make a decision on stopping strikes against the Islamic Republic, weighing all circumstances, at the appropriate time.

"The final decision will be made by me, but I will also take into account Netanyahu's opinion," said the American leader, without specifying a timeline for the attacks on Iran to conclude.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated on Friday that the administration expects the war to continue for 4–6 months.

It was also reported that strikes on fuel depots by American troops will lead to an environmental disaster in the Middle East with far-reaching consequences.
