Lithuanian Intelligence Knows When Russia May Attack the Baltic States 0 31

The Russian Federation will be ready to attack the Baltic States in a year or two after concluding peace with Ukraine and lifting sanctions, believes Lithuanian intelligence. According to the conclusions of the country's special services, while Moscow directs resources towards the war with Ukraine, its ability to pose a direct military threat to Lithuania and other NATO countries remains limited, writes the Lithuanian portal LRT, citing the relevant report.

The scenario of ending the war, in which the parties conclude a peace agreement accompanied by the lifting of most or all international sanctions against the Russian Federation, is described by Lithuanian intelligence as the "worst-case scenario," writes LRT. In this case, Moscow will redirect resources to staff new units and will be able to be ready for military conflict in the Baltic region within one to two years and for a large-scale conflict with NATO within six to ten years.
