Trump Issued a Tough Ultimatum to the Kurds Over the War with Iran 0 18

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the Iraqi Kurds and issued them an ultimatum regarding the war with Iran. This was reported by The Washington Post.

It is claimed that on March 1, Trump called the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani and the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani, urging them to join the U.S. and Israel in the ongoing conflict.

"Trump was very clear during his call. He told us that the Kurds must choose a side in this battle — either with America and Israel or with Iran," said a Kurdish official familiar with the content of one of the phone calls.

Earlier, it became known that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency would supply weapons to Kurdish forces to involve them in combat operations in western Iran. According to CNN, Washington wants the Kurds to engage in clashes with Iranian forces in the coming days as part of a plan to destabilize the country.
