The estimated number of servicemen does not exceed one thousand.
Paratroopers from France and the United Kingdom have completed their preparation for deployment to Ukraine as part of the so-called peacekeeping mission. This was reported by the British publication The Telegraph.
"British and French paratroopers have already completed their final preparations ahead of a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine," the authors of the article claim.
According to observers, over 600 soldiers from the 16th Air Assault Brigade of the British Armed Forces, together with servicemen from the French 11th Airborne Brigade, conducted a simulation of a landing in Ukraine in Brittany.
"The exercises in Brittany took place on the fourth anniversary of the start of the conflict in Ukraine and are the final exercises to prepare paratroopers for deployment anywhere in the world as part of NATO forces," the publication states.
Leaders of the so-called "coalition of the willing" confirmed at a leaders' meeting the intention to send troops to Ukraine as part of "security guarantees." Representatives of the Russian leadership, in turn, have previously emphasized that Moscow will never agree to the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine in any form.
Earlier, the Chief of Staff of the French Army, Pierre Schill, stated that Paris is ready to deploy its military contingent in Ukraine in 2026.
"We will be ready to deploy troops as part of security guarantees if necessary for the benefit of Ukraine," Schill stated.
Before this, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris intends to transfer Aster missiles and Mirage fighters to Kyiv in the near future.
