The son of the last Shah has called on Iranians to take to the streets again, Deutsche Welle reports. "We are facing a decisive moment. The aid that the President of the United States promised to the brave people of Iran has now arrived," Reza Pahlavi wrote in Persian on social media platform X. "However, despite the arrival of this aid, the final victory will still be ours. It is we, the Iranian people, who will complete this work in the final battle. The time to return to the streets is approaching," he urged, adding that he wants to "be with you as soon as possible to restore and reclaim Iran together."

Pahlavi also addressed the Iranian armed forces: "You swore to defend Iran and the Iranian people, not the Islamic Republic and its leaders. Your duty is to protect the people, not the regime that has taken our homeland hostage through repression and crimes. Join the nation and help ensure a stable and safe transition. Otherwise, you will sink along with the broken ship of Khamenei and his regime."

For nearly half a century, after the overthrow of his father - the last Shah of Iran - Reza Pahlavi has lived in exile in the United States. In December-January, he actively supported the protests in Iran, which were brutally suppressed by the authorities, and expressed his readiness to lead the country after the overthrow of the Ayatollahs.
