Trump promised to support Israeli strikes against Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump promised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a December meeting at Mar-a-Lago that he would support strikes against Iran's ballistic missile program. This was reported by CBS News citing sources.
The politician added that he would do this if Washington and Tehran failed to reach an agreement. During the discussion, the parties considered what assistance the United States could provide, including air refueling for Israeli planes and obtaining overflight permissions from neighboring countries.
Earlier, the WSJ reported that the Pentagon had ordered the preparation of a second aircraft carrier strike group for deployment in the Middle East. In addition, Donald Trump stated that he was considering sending a second aircraft carrier to the region in preparation for military action in the event of a failure in negotiations with Iran.
