According to the radio, the country will once again conduct drills for the evacuation of the civilian population as preparation for war. Such drills were held in the 1950s and 1960s, with the largest taking place in 1961 in Stockholm, where 30,000 people participated.
The first mass evacuations will take place on the island of Gotland, involving 300 volunteers. It is noted that the Swedish Civil Defense Agency is preparing for even larger evacuation drills, which will be held in the north of the country in 2027.
