Eurostat: December import of Russian fertilizers surged by more than 36%. The main buyer of Russian fertilizers was Poland.
In December 2025, the import of Russian fertilizers into the European Union countries reached a six-month high, according to Eurostat data.
It turned out that in the last month of the previous year, the European Union spent 212.5 million euros on this type of import. Compared to the same period last year, the increase was 36.4 percent. The November figure was surpassed by 1.8 times.
The main buyer of Russian fertilizers was Poland, which increased this import by 35 percent. The supplies are estimated at 77.03 million euros. France spent 22.5 million, Spain — 21.5 million, Germany — 20.6 million, and Slovenia — 14.7 million.
In total, the EU purchased fertilizers from Russia for 1.74 billion euros over the year. Compared to 2024, this is almost four percent more. The achieved result was the highest since 2022, when it was about 2.56 billion euros. The main importers for the past year were Poland (632.4 million euros), Germany (181.4 million), Spain (133.9 million), Romania (128.6 million), and France (126.7 million).
