National: The U.S. is developing a plan to form a temporary government in Iran.
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is developing a plan to form a temporary government in Iran in the event of a regime change. This was reported by The National, citing sources.
The publication clarifies that the initiative involves the American leader's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. "He is helping to assemble a group of Iranian-American businessmen to advise on the formation of some transitional body that will help govern Iran in the event of the regime's collapse," the report states.
Additionally, the newspaper's source added that the American side intends to organize a meeting with Iranian opposition figures in the coming days in Palm Beach, Florida.
Earlier, Reuters assessed that the likelihood of military conflict between the U.S. and Iran remains high, as Tehran is unlikely to make significant concessions during negotiations.
