Russian Agency in Europe Fuels Radicalism 0 13

Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski stated to Polish Radio that Europe should have earlier increased its own defense capabilities and consistently fulfilled NATO obligations. "This earns respect in Washington and simultaneously restrains Vladimir Putin," Sikorski emphasized in an interview with Polish Radio. According to him, Poland is already increasing defense spending beyond NATO requirements, acting in its own interests.

He also noted that the level of trust Europeans have in the United States is declining, and this is yet another argument in favor of strengthening European defense.

Sikorski also warned: "Not only Russia would like to destroy European unity, although it is the Russians who act most aggressively. Their agency in Europe fuels anti-European sentiments and radicalism."
