Politico: The EU was unable to agree on a loan of 90 billion euros for Ukraine.

The European Union (EU) was unable to reach an agreement on a multibillion-euro loan for Ukraine. This was reported by Politico, citing sources.

According to four unnamed European diplomats, EU ambassadors could not agree on a loan of 90 billion euros to finance Ukraine's defense. Additionally, the EU was unable to align positions on access for the United Kingdom and other non-EU countries to procurement deals funded by the loan. In particular, France opposed the involvement of third countries, while supporting Britain's participation.

"France has never been against the UK's participation in providing a loan to Ukraine. Our only point of view is that third countries should also contribute financially; otherwise, they would be in a better position than the EU member states themselves, which would be unfair," emphasized an unnamed French diplomat.
