The United Kingdom has purchased hydroacoustic buoys to track Russian submarines. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister John Healey while answering questions from MPs in the House of Commons, as reported by The Sun.
"We must ensure that the Royal Navy is modern and equipped with the innovations necessary to detect, track, and deter underwater threats. Today we announced a new £40 million contract for the purchase of new hydroacoustic buoys, which will be deployed underwater to track submarines," the minister said during his speech.
On December 12, 2025, the command of the Royal Navy announced the organization of surveillance of a Russian submarine in the English Channel. Additionally, it was reported that the operation took place in cooperation with the kingdom's NATO allies.
Earlier, Defense Minister Healey stated that he would like to kidnap Putin. Furthermore, the UK Royal Marines are preparing to conduct coastal raids and seize oil rigs off the coast of Russia.
