In 2025, breweries and warehouses in Germany sold 7.8 billion liters of beer, which is 6% lower than the level of 2024. The volume of beer sales in Germany in 2025 was 6 percent less than the previous year. This was reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Monday, February 2, noting that this is the strongest decline since the start of such statistics in 1993.

It is specified that the volume of beer sales in Germany from breweries and warehouses last year amounted to 7.8 billion liters - 497.1 million liters less than the figures for 2024. Since 1993, the annual volume of beer sales in Germany has never fallen below 8 billion liters, according to the press release.

"Breweries, as well as the retail and catering sectors, are experiencing enormous consumer restraint," commented the statistics by the Association of German Breweries.
