"VChK-OGPU": In Moscow, a teenager killed a Roskomnadzor employee. According to "Meduza," Russian state media were forbidden to report on this.
In Moscow, in the building of Roskomnadzor, a 16-year-old teenager killed a high-ranking official of the agency, reported the anonymous Telegram channel "VChK-OGPU," citing "Meduza."
According to the channel, the murder occurred on January 19 at the entrance of the main building of Roskomnadzor on Kitaygorodsky Proyezd. The schoolboy attacked the Roskomnadzor employee with a knife and stabbed him in the chest as he was leaving the office. The teenager was detained shortly after the incident, but FSB officials immediately classified information about the crime, writes "VChK-OGPU."
The authors of the Telegram channel claim they learned about the incident accidentally from a message from the teenager's mother, who was trying to find a defender for her son online. She later deleted this information.
According to the woman, her son Artem was accused of murdering Roskomnadzor official Alexey Belyaev. The investigation believes the crime was motivated by political and ideological hatred (paragraph "l" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code). The suspect is described as a fierce opponent of Roskomnadzor's activities, who had premeditated the attack.
The authors of "VChK-OGPU" found information about the detainee online. According to their data, the teenager ran a YouTube channel and was interested in games and animation.
The publication "Agency" and "VChK-OGPU" examined leaks and established that Alexey Belyaev had been working at Roskomnadzor since 2011. At the time of the attack, he held the position of deputy head of the department for control and supervision in the field of communications. This is one of the key departments of Roskomnadzor, responsible for blocking and throttling traffic. In 2017, he received a commendation from Vladimir Putin for his contributions to ensuring reliable and uninterrupted communication for the state system "Elections." Belyaev's passport and TIN have now been declared invalid since January 19, the date of the probable murder.
According to sources from "Meduza," state and pro-government media were advised not to publish information about the murder of the Roskomnadzor employee as early as January 19.
