The first batches of peeled peanuts and coconut flakes for the confectionery factory in Cheboksary arrived in Chuvashia in 2026. The total volume of goods amounted to over 120 tons. This was reported by Russian media, citing the Rosselkhoznadzor office for Chuvashia and the Ulyanovsk region.
62.5 tons of peanuts and 58.9 tons of coconut flakes have been delivered by freight trains from Latvia. Specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor conducted mandatory phytosanitary control of both batches. For this purpose, the cargo was inspected, samples were taken, and sent to a laboratory in Cheboksary, where the products were checked for compliance with Russian requirements.
No quarantine organisms were found in the peanuts and coconut flakes. Based on the research results, a quarantine phytosanitary control act was issued for the peanuts, allowing their further use by confectioners in Chuvashia.
"It is noteworthy that trade relations between different countries do not cease even during times of international tension," Russian media emphasize.
