Europeans Have Endured Humiliations from the U.S. for Years - German Media

Europeans have endured humiliations from the U.S. for years. This was stated in an interview for Berliner Zeitung (BZ) by international relations expert Gerhard Mangott.

As the publication reminded, Germany withdrew 15 Bundeswehr soldiers from Greenland just two days after their deployment to the island, almost immediately after U.S. President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on goods from countries opposing his stance on Greenland.

According to Mangott, this situation will have fatal consequences for Berlin, as the troop withdrawal is not coincidental. He noted that it shows Germany's abandonment of an independent foreign policy, while all Europeans can hardly resist the imperialistic, rule-breaking United States.

"They are completely dependent on the U.S. (...). There is a lack of a real foundation on which to build an independent Europe. Europeans have endured humiliations for years (...). I do not see a single participant in the EU and NATO who stands up to Trump," the expert concluded.

Earlier, it became known that due to Trump's reaction, Europe is reconsidering whether the decision to send troops to Greenland was hasty. Initially, Europeans thought that sending military forces would demonstrate support for security in the Arctic, but the American leader perceived it as a provocation.
