Canada will strengthen its presence in the Arctic and open a consulate in Greenland. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

According to Anand, Canada will strengthen its presence in the Arctic as U.S. President Donald Trump "provoked unrest in the region" by threatening to seize Greenland.

"We have no choice but to bolster our presence in the Arctic. Security issues in the Arctic are at the forefront of our attention," she emphasized.

The minister noted that Canada will open a consulate in Greenland as early as February 2026.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump published an image showing the territories of Canada, Venezuela, and Greenland annexed to the United States.
