The leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tihanovskaya, will move from Lithuania to Poland. This was reported by the Polish publication Do Rzeczy, citing the AFP agency.
According to agency data, the politician will change her place of residence to Warsaw. It is specified that Tihanovskaya will leave Lithuania and will live in the Polish capital for security reasons.
According to sources from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the politician's entourage speaking to AFP, the decision to move was made after the Lithuanian authorities decided to reduce Tihanovskaya's security detail.
In October 2025, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda allowed for the departure of the Belarusian opposition leader from the country where she had lived after the protests in Belarus in 2020.
