The possibility of capturing Russian President Vladimir Putin and subsequently transporting him to New York was commented on by U.S. President Donald Trump.

During a press conference, Trump stated that there will be no operation to capture Putin.

"Will you ever give the order to carry out an operation to capture Putin?" a reporter asked him.

"I don’t think that will be necessary," the U.S. president replied.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had appealed to Trump to kidnap the Russian leader.

The U.S. has tools to exert pressure on Russia; for example, the world recently witnessed the operation involving Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Perhaps Putin will think that the same will be done with the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Kadyrov did not hold back and said that "if the order is given, Zelensky will find himself in Grozny even faster than Maduro ended up in the U.S."

However, in the heated discussion of possible kidnappings, no one dared to raise the issue of kidnapping Trump.
