The order to freeze the assets of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro affected 37 individuals. This was reported by an official representative of the Swiss Foreign Ministry in a conversation with Agence France-Presse. The government did not disclose the amount of the frozen assets.
"The order [to freeze assets] concerns 37 individuals; however, the ministry cannot provide any details about the value of the corresponding assets," the report states. It is noted that the relevant order will remain in effect for four years until further notice.
As emphasized by the agency's interlocutor, this decision did not affect any member of the current government of the Bolivarian Republic and was made as a precautionary measure.
