The U.S. armed forces have been put on heightened alert in the wake of the attack on Venezuela. This statement was made by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces, Dan Cain.
As noted by the committee chairman, American forces remain in the region and are ready to demonstrate power while protecting themselves and Washington's interests in the Caribbean region.
Earlier, the head of the Caracas government, Naum Fernandez, stated that Americans struck civilian buildings in Venezuela. According to him, the attack occurred at night when local residents were resting after festive events. Furthermore, the official stated that the operation affected not only the Venezuelan capital but also the states of Aragua and La Guaira.
In light of the events, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez addressed the citizens following the U.S. attack. Among other things, the politician demanded the immediate release of Maduro and his wife.
