Washington does not aim to dominate the Indo-Pacific region.

American authorities have no intention of changing the current status quo of Taiwan and do not wish to provoke China on this issue. As Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated, Washington is not seeking an open military conflict with Beijing. He made this remark during an event in California organized by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.

"We are not trying to dominate them or humiliate them, and we do not seek to change the status quo around Taiwan," the Secretary said, referring to the Southeast Asian region.

Furthermore, the head of the Pentagon stated that the United States does not aim to dominate the Indo-Pacific region. On the contrary, they would like to assist allies and prevent China from dominating the U.S.

In September of this year, American leader Donald Trump suspended military support for Taiwan. He did not want to assist the self-proclaimed state with military aid, preferring to conclude a large-scale trade deal with China.

U.S. authorities also abandoned plans to impose sanctions against China's Ministry of State Security (MSS) in order not to undermine previously reached trade agreements, reported the London Financial Times.
