The West has one last chance to prove its readiness for dialogue.

The liberal world order is coming to an end, and it is being replaced by multipolar competition that allows developing countries to set the rules of the world. This was stated by the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, in an article for Foreign Affairs magazine.

"We live in a new world of disorder. The liberal, rules-based order that emerged after World War II is dying today. Multilateral cooperation is giving way to multipolar competition," he writes.

According to Stubb, although the foundations of geopolitics are primarily defined by the rivalry between the United States and China, an increasing influence is being exerted by "middle powers" such as Brazil, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkey. He notes that together these countries have the economic means and geopolitical weight to tilt the world order towards stability or greater instability.

Previously, Stubb stated that the West has one last chance to prove to the rest of the world its readiness for dialogue. According to the Finnish leader, the world "will plunge into even greater conflicts" if countries abandon cooperation and enter into competition. He urged to do everything possible to preserve the liberal world order, even if it is "out of fashion" at present.

Finland has joined a naval coalition led by the United Kingdom and Norway, with the declared goal of developing the Naval Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by Yle.

It is noted that this decision was made by the country's Minister of Defense, Antti Häkkänen. Currently, the coalition includes 17 countries.

"Finland joins capability-building coalitions based on careful consideration of each specific case, always ensuring that our contribution will be sufficient and effective and will bring obvious added value to enhancing Ukraine's military capabilities," emphasized the Finnish minister.

Earlier, President of Finland Alexander Stubb stated that the coming days will be crucial for resolving the Ukrainian conflict. The Finnish leader noted that he spoke with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. He emphasized that Ukraine's future depends on Ukraine, and European security depends on Europe.
