Russia does not intend to go to war with European countries, but is ready for it, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. In his speech at the VTB Bank forum, he also threatened to "cut Ukraine off from the sea" due to attacks on tankers.

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the VTB Bank investment forum ahead of a meeting with an American delegation in the Kremlin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that the Russian Federation does not intend to go to war with European countries, but is ready for it "right now." He stated this at the VTB Bank investment forum before meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss the details of the U.S. peace plan on Tuesday, December 2.

"We do not intend to fight with Europe, I have said this a hundred times. But if Europe suddenly wants to fight and starts, we are ready right now," Putin commented on the possibility of direct confrontation. According to him, the outcomes of such a potential military conflict would be "unfavorable for Europe," and Russia would have "no one to negotiate with."

The President of the Russian Federation is confident that "Europe has removed itself from the settlement process" of the war in Ukraine unleashed by the Kremlin, as it attempts to introduce unacceptable changes to the settlement plan previously proposed by Donald Trump.

Putin Threatens to "Cut Ukraine Off from the Sea" Due to Attacks on Tankers

Vladimir Putin also noted that if Ukraine continues attacks on Russian tankers in the Black Sea, the Kremlin "will consider the possibility of retaliatory measures" against the vessels of countries that assist Kyiv in carrying them out. According to him, Russia is ready to expand strikes on Ukrainian ports and the vessels that enter them.

"The most radical way is to cut Ukraine off from the sea. Then it will be impossible to engage in piracy in general," he added.
