Ukrainian theater and film actress Natalia Koretska, who starred in the series 'Velyki Vuyky', 'Podkidyshe', 'Last Moskal', and many other projects, spoke about working with Russians.
It is no secret that before the start of the full-scale war, she acted in films produced in Russia and communicated with some colleagues from the Russian Federation.
"Among them were people with whom we maintained communication outside the filming set. When you work together for months, of course, some relationships develop. For example, actor Anton Batyrev practically 'registered' in Ukraine back then - and it must be said that he was not the only one, there were many like him. Literally a week before the invasion, we were sitting together, he was saying how wonderful we are, we even communicated via video call with his girlfriend. It was warm and sincere... At least it seemed so at the time. And a week later, he posted the letter Z on his page," the actress noted in an interview with OBOZ.UA.
At that time, Koretska could not hold back her emotions and decided to write the Russian a message:
"I wrote: 'Curse you. You just returned from Ukraine, professed your love to everyone - to us, the people around, the city, the country - and you put a 'Z'?' It was so disgusting."
Natalia also recalled a Russian director who worked a lot in Ukraine. The actress noted that he himself called at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and promised to leave the aggressor country.
"On the first day, he called and cried. He called again after a week, after a month, after several months - saying he would leave Russia. But time passed, and now he is calmly working there, making films in Russia. So now I have no one left from there whom I could say that there is at least some thread of relationship between us," Koretska added.
