Erdogan insists on deploying Turkish contingent in Gaza

Turkey is pushing a plan to deploy soldiers in Gaza despite Israeli objections. An Arab diplomat from one of the mediating countries stated that he believes Donald Trump will achieve a softening of Israel's position. Erdogan is counting on the hesitance of other countries regarding sending troops to Gaza.

An Arab diplomat from one of the mediating countries stated that Israeli opposition to the inclusion of Turkish troops in international forces in Gaza will not stop Ankara.

According to the KAN channel, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hopes to capitalize on the fact that most countries are still hesitant about sending troops to Gaza, despite appeals from the United States, and believes that ultimately President Trump will demand the involvement of Turkish forces and ease Israeli resistance.

According to the diplomat, Turkey is already preparing about two thousand soldiers for possible deployment to Gaza, as reported this month on the Middle East Eye website, which is close to Qatar and Turkey. Alongside Israeli objections, there are also reports of discontent from some Arab countries regarding the potential military presence of Turkey in Gaza.
