The president announced emergency measures in the energy sector.
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the deputies of the "Servant of the People" party and, in particular, discussed the so-called "Mindyichgate." However, it is difficult to call the meeting successful. Zelensky refused to dismiss the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, as well as to restart the Cabinet. After the discussion with the president, interlocutors among the deputies concluded that the political crisis continues. Those surveyed by officials do not rule out "counterattacks" towards NABU and SAP. Was Zelensky able to at least mitigate the impact of the corruption scandal?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced an urgent audit of state defense companies. Information about possible violations will be sent to law enforcement agencies. This is stated in the message from the head of state on his Telegram channel.
"Discussed with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko the preparation for the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Important decisions are planned. An audit of the activities of state energy companies is already underway – all relevant financial operations," the leader of the country wrote.
A decision has also been prepared for a full check of state defense companies and relevant contracts.
"I instructed the Prime Minister of Ukraine to report weekly on the results of the audit of the defense sector and also to inform the Ukrainian public weekly. All data on identified violations will be sent to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies," the president emphasized.
"The government has the task, besides the energy sector enterprises, to ensure the renewal of supervisory boards and the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine," Zelensky concluded. Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Yulia Svyrydenko regarding further decisions for the cleansing and rebooting of the management of the energy sector and related institutions and announced personnel decisions.
Additionally, the government announced an audit of all state corporations after NABU and SAP announced a large-scale Midas operation to uncover corruption in the energy sector, including the large-scale laundering of Energoatom's funds.
