The Financial Times (FT) also reports that Washington is conducting "Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations" in Abu Dhabi. According to the publication, Driscoll is expected to meet with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.

President Zelensky Hopes for Success
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope for a constructive conversation and a positive outcome. "The Ukrainian and American teams, the teams of our European partners are in close contact, and I very much hope that there will be a result. We need to stop the bloodshed and ensure that the war is not reignited," the head of state stated.
Donald Trump appointed Driscoll - a friend and former classmate of Vice President JD Vance - as his new "special representative," noted The Guardian. The publication did not specify whether he is working alongside the special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, who may leave the U.S. administration in January.
