Ukraine has significantly changed one of the 28 points of the U.S. 'peace plan' - WSJ

Ukraine has made significant changes to one of the 28 points of the 'peace plan' draft that is being published in the media. A senior American official stated this to The Wall Street Journal.

The initial wording provided for the verification of all international assistance received by Ukraine, which apparently aimed to identify potential corruption.

However, in the revised draft, the requirement for verification was removed, and instead, it was stated that all parties would receive 'full amnesty for their actions during the war,' the publication writes.

According to the publication, American officials stated that they would carefully coordinate the terms of the agreement with Kyiv. Meanwhile, Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, approved 'the majority of the plan' during the negotiations, reported U.S. President's press secretary Caroline Levitt.

WSJ also reports that European leaders are working on their own counterproposal on how to end the war on alternative terms and are trying to persuade Ukraine to support their plan, which is more favorable for Kyiv.

'Europe hopes that the plan will be ready within a few days, but Kyiv has not yet committed to joining it,' the article notes.

It was previously reported that the U.S. is demanding that Volodymyr Zelensky agree to a peace agreement 'by Thanksgiving,' November 27. By the end of the month, the States want to present the agreement to Moscow and complete the entire process by early December.

In turn, Zelensky, commenting on the 'peace plan,' stated that the Ukrainian authorities would not make abrupt statements and are focused on clear, honest work.
