Trump's Approval Rating Plummets: Why Americans Are Disappointed in Their President

The approval rating of U.S. President Donald Trump has fallen to its lowest level since his return to power in January 2025. This is evidenced by a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

According to a poll, Trump's current approval rating stands at 38% – two percentage points lower than in the previous poll conducted in early November.

As Reuters reminds us, Trump began his second term with the support of 47% of Americans. The current approval rating is close to the minimum levels during Trump's first presidential term.

Surveyed Americans are, among other things, dissatisfied with the U.S. president's policies regarding the cost of living and the investigation into the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Only 26% of Americans believe that Trump is handling the issue of the cost of living well – three points lower than at the beginning of this month.

And only 20% of Americans, specifically only 44% of Republicans, approve of Trump's actions regarding the Epstein case. About 70% of respondents (including 87% of Democrats and 60% of Republicans) believe that the administration is hiding information on this matter.

It is worth noting that Trump advocates for a ban on the publication of correspondence from the convicted and deceased Epstein. Trump's political opponents claim that the correspondence contains evidence that Trump allegedly provided oral pleasure to Bill Clinton.
