The naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran officially confirmed the detention of the oil tanker Talara in the Persian Gulf, which was heading to Singapore.
This was reported by the media on Saturday, November 15, citing a broadcast from the SNN channel.
"After the judicial authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of the cargo of the oil tanker named Talara, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, the IRGC Navy tracked its movements and detained it," the statement from the organization said.
It is noted that the vessel is carrying about 30,000 tons of petroleum products. After checking all the documentation, it was established that the tanker violates the legislation of the Islamic Republic, the IRGC emphasized.
