Independent: Britain will ban the use of its services for the export of LNG from Russia.
In 2026, a ban will come into effect in the United Kingdom on the use of its maritime services for the export of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to other countries. This was reported by the Independent.
In addition, insurance services will also be banned. This was stated by UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper ahead of a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Canada. According to her, London will also allocate £13 million to Ukraine for the restoration of its energy infrastructure.
In early November, it became known that as a result of the second month of autumn, the export of Russian LNG soared by 27 percent compared to September and by 21 percent year-on-year, reaching a record monthly volume of 3.4 million tons.
It is also known that in the first six months of 2025, the total volumes of Russian LNG supplies to the European Union increased by seven percent compared to the same period in 2024.
